چکیده

In the 21st century, Manufacturers will increasingly face frequent and unpredictable market changes. These changes include the frequent introduction of new products, increased demand for new products and new process technologies. To produce variety of product and suit to new processes automated/semi automated machine tools and fixture are required. In this paper present a fixture design for automotive “Rear axle Panel” . First, an introduction is given about automotive industry and then about fixture design and fixture modeling using CATIA software.

Multi-stations sheet metal assembly modeling and diagnostics

In this paper, a multi-station assembly process is modeled for diagnosing automotive body dimensional faults. The proposed approach enables multi-station assembly process modeling based on design information (CAD) and allows system behavior determination based on the in-line measurements of the final product. The method includes generic modeling of the key assembly process characteristics; tool...

A Lean Manufacturing Roadmap for an Automotive Body Assembly Line within Axiomatic Design Framework

In this paper we are to present a practical application of Axiomatic Design (AD) methodology, as a roadmap to lean production, in redesigning a car body assembly line. Axiomatic Design theory provides a framework to simplify the whole problem. According to the AD principles, a hierarchical structure has been developed. The developed structure originated in lean manufacturing principles and exis...

Moving towards in-line metrology: evaluation of a Laser Radar system for in-line dimensional inspection for automotive assembly systems

The increasing interest towards intelligent systems has led to a demand for the development of zero-defect strategies, with a paradigm shift from off-line and dedicated to inline metrology with integrated robotic systems. However, a major barrier preventing the systematic uptake of in-line metrology is the lack of evaluation of system capability in terms of accuracy, repeatability and measureme...
